TULIPS IN AMSTERDAM

While in Amsterdam in April, I knew I had to take advantage of the tulip season.

I scheduled a tour of both a tulip farm and the Keukenhof Gardens on Viator.com. I liked the tour, because then I didn’t need to worry about public transportation or renting a car (as both are a little ways out of the city). You can check out the tour here. It met right in Amsterdam Centraal Station.

If you’re interested in going at it alone… here is the tulip farm I went to:

De Tulperij: Three generations of tulip farmers have kept this plane up and running for years. We were able to get some history and information from one of the farmers, and then you were free to take as many pictures as you wanted!

Keukenhof Gardens: With over 7 million flowers, it’s hard not to fall in love. You truly feel like you’re walking around in an enchanted story book. There’s also a petting zoo and a few places to eat. 10/10 recommend! But careful: it’s only open from the end of March to the start of May.

The tour was about 7 hours with all transportation included. It was DEFINITELY my most favorite part of Amsterdam.
