PARIS TO AMSTERDAM BY TRAIN

This will be a short one— because it’s easy peasy lemon squeezey!!! Traveling from Paris to Amsterdam by train only takes about 3.5 hours. And if you book enough in advance, it can be very cheap!

I booked my ticket about two weeks in advance and paid about 30 euros. I bought my tickets through OUI SNCF, the french ticketing system. However, I think booking through Trainline EU might be a bit easier to navigate for English speakers. You can find that link here.

You’ll leave from Paris Gare du Nord, which I found to be a bit complicated… so make sure you’re arriving with plenty of time to spare. Your train ticket will tell you what car you should enter and your seat number. If you see open seats once the train has started moving, feel free to switch! The conductors aren’t too worried about seat numbers.

The train itself has wifi, a bar cart, and outlets at most seats. It’s an easy, fast ride with only a few stops. You’ll arrive right at Amsterdam Centraal which has plenty of ground transportation to get you to your next location.
