POST NOTRE-DAME FIRE & A GREAT ALTERNATIVE

As everyone probably knows by now, the Notre Dame suffered a major fire. Thankfully it has gotten a lot of donations, so hopefully it will be restored soon. Until then, I have another great option for you just a few steps away: Sainte-Chapelle.

The Sainte-Chapelle chapel was commissioned in 1242 by King Louis IX to house all of his relics. The chapel is renowned for its amazing stain glass. The colorful glass stretches 50 feet from floor to ceiling and tells the stories from both old and new testament.

You will have to pay to enter, but I think on a nice sunny day it’s worth the money. As you walk in the entrance, you might be underwhelmed… but don’t be fooled! Make your way up a narrow staircase, and you’ll find yourself in a life-size kaleidoscope!

You can buy tickets here for 10 euros and it is open every single day of the week (a rarity in Paris)!
